On July 2, Side Imperium, Rock Imperium Festival’s programme of parallel activities, will host a new cultural event at the Auditorium of the Fundación Mediterráneo Cultural Centre in Cartagena, expanding the festival experience beyond music through initiatives focused on education, heritage and reflection.
The programme will begin at 6:00 PM with the screening of ‘Octopus Documentary’, followed by the panel discussion “Marine Conservation: From Global to Local and Back Again”, featuring representatives from Sea Shepherd, the Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT), Fitosoil and ANSE (Association of Naturalists of the Southeast of Spain). The discussion will address a range of topics related to marine conservation, sustainability and the protection of Mediterranean ecosystems.
The event will also include the presentation of a charity auction featuring a guitar signed by Within Temptation, as well as a live connection with one of Sea Shepherd’s vessels currently operating in the Mediterranean.
Following a short break, the programme will continue with a screening of ‘Canciller’, a documentary that tells the story of Madrid’s legendary Canciller venue, one of the most iconic meeting points for Spain’s rock and heavy metal scene. Through archival footage and testimonies from key figures of the era, the film revisits the legacy of a venue that played a vital role for several generations of fans.
Free admission until full capacity is reached.
